If I can't answer that question I usually don't buy something, and I often regret it later. Well, I just loved the details on this.
And it was only eight dollars, so I bought it. I tried to hurry up with an idea for it before my husband asked "the question". I knew it would be great to hold ribbons, etc. in a work room, but I don't have a work room. And I almost put it on the kitchen counter to hold parchment paper.
Ultimately, I decided to put it on my kitchen desk to hold miscellaneous strings and such.
And just for fun, I tied on a tea cup to hold push pins for the bulletin board.
And when my husband came home, he didn't ask "the question". He said, "I like that thing over there, whatever it is."
By the way. Do you know what it is?

That "thingy" rolls newspaper into "logs" for a fireplace. Love how you're using it!

I agree, I think it rolls newspaper into logs. What a great find and I love all the string in it. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteIt is either a place for fire place logs as the above stated. Could be a magazine rack. Really could be most anything. Your own ideas seem to be working just fine.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with the rolling of the newspapers. I've seen them before...but only in magazines, etc.
ReplyDeleteYou've made very good use of the 'roller'and I like it. Husbands...aren't they a hoot! Keep on with your 'inventing' I like seeing what you do...pat
Yep, it is a newspaper roller for logs....very cute how you are using it...better than what is it supposed to be!!
ReplyDeleteI KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS~ My mom used to have one. This was something designed for rolling newspapers into logs.....I love how you have your displayed, very cute! Have a great VTT!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! It looks great with the little cup hanging from it. My husband always asks "Where are you going to put it?" I hate that question!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for that paper roller. Very nice vintage piece. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat repurposing! Looks great, totally functional and......you beat hubby to the punch!
ReplyDeleteI like it too, and I think your husband is learning very well!! You know the repurposing thing just doesn't come as naturally to them as it does to us!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. Love the teacup with the pins. I like that thingie, too.
ReplyDeleteIs it a newspaper log roller? I thought it was for parcel paper or is it not that old. In the older stores when they used paper to wrap your purchases. Very nice string holder!
ReplyDeleteI would never have guessed the log roller myself, but assume it is from all the above comments. Great repurpose though.
ReplyDeleteDoggoneit I saw one of these at a yard sale just todayn didn't get it, awesome idea.
