I found my first vintage aprons quite a while ago and knew I was hooked. I painted and put up peg hooks to hang my collection on, and then ... nothing. I didn't come across any more aprons. Over the last couple of weeks that all changed.
I finally found a apron with a bib for my Manni.
I found this cute rose print apron at the antique mall.
Then this white apron trimmed with strawberry ribbon appeared at the resale shop.
And this cute little, well used apron with the heart pocket was another antique mall find.
I also found this rose hanky. I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for yet, so I tucked into the apron pocket.
So my apron collection has grown a little bit . And my rule is - I will not pay more than five dollars for an apron. So it's ok if the collection is a little out of control. Right?

Beautiful collection of aprons, I love them too! Like the hankie in the pocket, that is such a nice touch! Have a great VTT and thanks for linking in today!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I love these...and I can tell I like you ;). Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI believe you have done very well on your apron collection. They are many in the antique malls here. I think what you have are very pretty and well displayed.
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty aprons! I love the rose print one especially. Got mine on a rack just like that, and have had to start doubling and tripling them up on the pegs. Collections as cute as those tend to grow fast!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! I love aprons (and that hankie is pretty special too!)-enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThe colors and patterns really look good together. I'm wondering whether that was luck or if you picked them out. I have been looking for aprons and finally found a few at a thrift store.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely aprons collection. love of them. Can't pick one as fave. coz all so equally pretty!. thanks for sharing. Happy VTT
ReplyDeletewhat gorgeous aprons, i love how you've got them dispalyed on the wooden pegs..oh and i love your rustic mannequin too! btw i refuse to pay more than $5 for a vintage apron too :) x
ReplyDeleteVery sweet aprons. My fave is the one with the bib. You're right to not want to pay more than 5$ for a vintage apron.

They look so pretty hanging on the hooks! I love how your mannequin wears the bibbed one and is right next to the hanging ones.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Terrific collection-you have a bit of each type: large floral to rick rack and best of all-some dotted swiss! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteGreat aprons. It is hard to find an apron under $5.00 around here. I love the one on the far right.
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely display. I have my aprons all on one knob, I think I'm going to display them from a peg board like you have!
ReplyDeleteThose are so charming, I love them all!
ReplyDeleteHappy VTT!

Loving the aprons! I found some pretty little hankies this week as well but have no idea what to do with them.
ReplyDeleteAll are lovely...I especially like that white dotted-swiss with the strawberries. I too have pegs to hang my apron collection on :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
You have such a wonderful way to display these! I think some people buy the aprons to cut them up for the fabric, but I could never do that. Happy VTT.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! Love your collection of vintage aprons. I think I have that same hankie in my collection! Stop by to say hello, if you can.

Janet, they are simply darling. I inherited a similar collection made by my hubs mother. ~olive

What a great collection. Love how you display them. Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to do this with mine too and am considering various options for hanging them. I searched Flickr for vintage aprons and came up with so much inspiration that now I can't decide which way to go! Oye! You really worked this with the vintage print above and your lovely mannequin.

Your aprons are so pretty. I love how you have them displayed. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteJanet, I love all your aprons. I used to have a large collection of vintage ones I clipped to rings and used as curtains on some narrow windows on two sides of a room off our kitchen. Alas, they were lost when hurricane Ike crashed a huge tree through the roof in that part of the house. I still miss those sweet old aprons.
ReplyDeleteYour collection looks perfectly under control--you have it displayed so well. This would be a great link-up for my Fabric Fun Thursday party, too :).
ReplyDeleteSo cute! love the mannequin too!
ReplyDeleteI looove your aprons, they're adorable, I use to have several and have used them for decorating, in fact I still have one of my faves as a curtian in my bathroom (if you go back a few posts you can see it), thanks for sharing! Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
