This is a picture of the table before.
For the top, I just applied a few layers of Briwax dark brown. I really love to use wax on a very worn surface. It turns the imperfections into a beautiful patina. Here it is in the process.
The drawer had lots of "imperfections", too, so I lined it with sheet music. A glass knob was the final touch.
These two gold pieces got a makeover in white as well.
And here they are in my booth.
This is the booth after the addition of my more shabby chic items. I used the screen to divide the space. I have a "French" side and a "romantic" side.
I enjoy both styles, so I plan on doing some of each. I'm a little behind with my posts. I have several projects completed that I hope to show soon. In the meantime, I will be joining some of the parties on my sidebar. Please go and visit.

What a great little table, Janet! I have something that size that has been used as a table and currently as a desk. It is tucked up in a spare bedroom, but it could usea paint job. It is that horrible orangey looking stain right now. You've inspired me to add it to my painting list!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely little desk! I love how you lined the drawers with sheet music! Coming over from Tuesdays Treasures and your newest follower!

OOOHHH! Good thing I don't know where your booths are! Haha! So many pretty things! Love the sheet music in the drawer and the way you finished the top!
ReplyDeleteI love that you added a little extra pizazz with the lined drawer. Very sweet and I really like your booth. :)
ReplyDeleteThat table is just perfect!!
ReplyDeleteHi there! Your make-overs are fantastic. I have really enjoyed looking at all the pretties.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know (if you don't yet) that your table/desk is really a vanity! My mom has had one for years and handed it down to me. On most of them, there were this swing-out arms in front of the drawer that you used for putting nail polish on.
Your's turned out so cute. I painted mine light pink and put a ceramic knob on the drawer that has a little pink rose on it. I put a little shabby mirror on it and have used it for many years to put make-up on. Keep up the good work!
