"In my own little corner,
in my own little world,
I can be whatever I want to be."
~Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella~
Sometimes after a long day at work (or home), I feel more than a little like Cinderella-before she meets her prince. You can see the video of this song here. I decided I wanted a cozy corner in my dining room where "I could be whatever I wanted to be."
This is my dining room. It 's bright and sunny and only used for special occasions. I wanted to be able to sit and drink coffee and enjoy the room.
This is the corner "before". I bought this chair several years ago at a thrift store and it has been sitting in my basement waiting for a makeover. I made a very simple slipcover for it.
I also recovered a pillow that I really didn't like (this is the pillow before) and I hung some prints on the wall that I found for six dollars for the pair.
They are very old and damaged. Just the way I like it.
And a shabby little cottage platter.
And here is my cozy corner after. Now to find the time to sit there and enjoy.

ReplyDeleteYour style is so feminine and pretty. I love the mismatched dining chairs unified by the white paint. You did a wonderful job on that slipcover. That little chair has such a pretty shape and the ruffles at the bottom give it even more style. The mantle piece is amazing as well. Gorgeous job and I'm so glad you shared it with us at FFF!
ReplyDeletehow absolutely wonderful! I love a corner that you can make your own; like a secret garden only indoors. The 'old and damaged' part makes it even more special-- Beautiful, thanks for showing it off to us.
ReplyDeleteHI!
ReplyDeleteYour little corner of the world looks so inviting! Thanks for sharing. Have a great day!
