Junky but not Funky

I am doing this post for the Saturday Night special at Funky Junk InteriorsAfter checking out all the ideas on the blog, I started looking around my house for a project to share.  And Guess What?  I'm not funky.  I like to make new things from salvaged pieces and I do a lot of "trash to treasures".  This chair was found in the trash without even a seat.

Well, I finally decided to share this display shelf made out of a salvaged furniture piece from my Grandmother.  I added molding and a piece of wood across the top, painted it all out and added an antiquing glaze.  I have it hanging in my bedroom with some of my floral prints displayed on top.

From now on, as I'm doing projects, I'm going to try and add some FUNK to my JUNK.

  1. I don't do funky very well either, but I love to repurpose stuff...I'm totally drooling over the shelf AND your florals. Looking forward to what you'll be posting in the future :o)

  2. Gorgeous! Both of them!! Don't have to have funk to show some spunk. :)

It's all a matter of individual taste. I know I go too far sometimes. Thanks for helping me 'test out my future lines.' LOL

If you wanted to push things further, you could add hooks to the wood piece so it's ultra productive. But that would change it and I love what you've done with it as is!

Both your pieces had me smiling for they needed your creativity to reach where they are today. Kudos!

Thanks for linking up to SNS #3!
